PD Group, in collaboration with the client and the architects responsible for the Auto Mall’s master planning, prepared overall landscape design guidelines to create a coherent landscape standard for the project. Consistent landscape design detailing was established with a street frontage treatment that minimizes leaf-drop on displayed vehicles and provides a green edge between sidewalk and dealerships. A key requirement of the client was to provide a scheme that maintains high visibility of the vehicles on sale. Feature display locations with more elaborate surfacing and surrounding planting offered greater variety to the streetscape. The firm was also responsible for the detailed design of 3 of the dealerships in addition to conducting design review of those carried out by others to ensure design guideline compliance.
